As I’ve said before, one of the many advantages we like to think we have as a new independent small press is the opportunity to take chances and try different things. While we are thrilled to be expanding our full-length catalog so quickly—with five full-length poetry collections and several prose books coming next year—we’re also eager to keep figuring out creative ways to support as many writers around our region as we can. To that end, we’ve begun a new project:
The Belle Point Prose Series is an ongoing series of short prose works by Mid-Southern writers. Each print “microchap” will feature 1-2 brief stories or essays (or a small handful of flash pieces) by a single author. So far, we’ve secured this stellar lineup:
For now, we’ll be releasing two each month, starting in September. We’ll see where it goes from there, but we hope you’ll like what we’ve done so far. We can’t wait to share these fantastic pieces with you.
