Well, folks, it’s been a long few days. After the rush of launching pre-orders for our first two poetry chaps last week, our website went haywire and we essentially had to start over. The good news is we’re back up and running smoothly (as far as I can tell) and the pre-orders have been rolling in, which makes this new publisher thrilled to know we’re off to a strong start in being able to support our authors. (Did you know our chap authors earn royalties?) With Nikki Ummel’s Hush and Kyle Vaughn’s The Alpinist Searches Lonely Places on the way, we’re feeling pretty great about the fall season.
What else is new? Our workshop program! What began as a spontaneous Twitter exchange has evolved into our first creative writing workshop. We can’t wait for Kirsten Reneau’s CNF workshop on Mothers and Daughters, coming your way October 30-November 20. Learn more about it here.
One added perk is that workshop participants will also receive a print copy of Belle Point Prose #6, a microchap by Kirsten due to release in November. If you’re curious about the Prose Series, you can learn more about it in a previous post and check out the first two installments in our current catalog.
We’re also lining up more events around Arkansas and are starting to ship out pre-orders for the Mid/South Anthology. It will go to full price on September 20, so please consider getting your copy now if you haven’t already. I am grateful beyond measure for the people who have already shown their support.
There’s probably more to say, but this publisher is still a little worn out from last week’s activity. Just know there is always more happening behind the scenes.
Up next: more features of our Mid/South Anthology contributors, cover reveals, and the official announcement of our forthcoming prose catalog.
We also have a very special project in the works that we’ll be bringing to your attention as soon as possible—you won’t want to miss it.
