Here at the Belle Point household, we’ve been keeping busy. Our Mid/South Anthology launches three weeks from tomorrow, we have new merch in the shop, and we’re opening orders for two more projects this week.
We’ve officially started pre-orders for the first two chaps in our Belle Point Chaps series! You can order Nikki Ummel’s Hush (out in October) and Kyle Vaughn’s The Alpinist Searches Lonely Places—or you can upgrade your order to a bundle subscription and get all five at a discount + reduced shipping.
We’re in the process of setting up readings/events around the area to celebrate the Mid/South Anthology. So far, we’ve officially scheduled three—with more in the works. They include:
Bookish Launch here in Fort Smith (Saturday, 9/17): a panel discussion with Heather Dobbins and Christian Anton Gerard (two local poets in the anthology) alongside our beloved Sara Putman (owner of Bookish) and yours truly, followed by readings from our poets. Check out more info here.
Pearl’s Books in Fayetteville will host us on Friday, 9/23 for a similar conversation/reading with Geffrey Davis, Carolyn Guinzio, Bryan Hurt, and Laurie Marshall.
The next day (Saturday 9/24), you can find me at Chapters on Main in Van Buren for an informal “meet the press” gathering from 1-3pm, followed by a community open mic from 5-7.
We also expect to do events in Bentonville, Russellville, Conway, Oklahoma City, and online in the coming weeks/months (phew!).
Finally, we launch our new Prose Series on Thursday with the first two installments by Sally Thomas and Jennifer Reeser. Keep an eye out for when those listings go live and grab some good reading along with some Belle Point goods.
As we head into September, we’ll be sharing more news about our workshop plans and our 2023 catalog. Now, back to work!
